Tools used for this project

For this project, I created a snowboarding company and developed its brand identity. This included designing the wordmark, selecting colours, themes, typography, and creating apparel such as shirts, hoodies, jackets, and helmets.
From the beginning, I wanted the brand to appeal to experienced snowboarders—those passionate about the sport, chasing the tallest mountains and fastest runs. I named the brand GNAR, inspired by the phrase “shredding the gnar,” which refers to skilled riders excelling on tough terrain.
To reflect the brand’s spirit, I chose contour lines from topographical maps as the main design motif. These maps show the shape and elevation of mountain landscapes, similar to the environments where advanced snowboarders ride.
